Anyone can be a victim

It is important to know that anyone can be a victim of sex trafficking. I read an article today about a 12 year old girl, named Brooke, from Vermont who was kidnapped by her uncle and tricked into a sex ring. Brooke’s uncle told her that he was taking her to a party, but was really taking her to be sexually exploited by several adult males. Brooke disappeared for a week until the police tragically found her dead body a mile away from her uncle’s home. Brooke’s math teacher said “she always had a smile on her face” and was “smart and creative.” Anyone can be a victim of sexual exploitation; so it is essential to educate yourself about the issue, in order to keep our children safe.
